Historically, NuMI-EcoSol has offered two ACIEPES for the undergraduate and graduate courses from UFSCar and from other higher education institutions and for people from Sao Carlos’ community and region that were interested in initial education on Solidarity Economy. ACIEPE “Popular Cooperatives and Solidarity Economy: knowledge production, professional intervention and education of professionals”

It is expected that students be able to plan and implement intervention actions, as well as delimit questions and develop research projects in the scope of Solidarity Economy. This will be done through systematic meetings and participation in practical activities (activities with incubated groups, workshops, meetings and solidarity economy events). It is expected that these opportunities, based on familiarization with the needs and potentialities identified, may lead to more stable participation from at least part of the subject participants in NuMI-EcoSol’s projects.

ACIEPE “Solidary Finances and Social Currency”

This ACIEPE was proposed in 2012 by the Multidisciplinary and Integrated Center for Study, Education and Intervention in Solidarity Economy from UFSCar in partnership with UFSCar’s CONTATO Festival; Casa Fora do Eixo Sanca; the Aparelho Coletivo; the Institute Janela Aberta; the Bancos Comunitários Nascente and Santa Eudóxia; and the Department of Support to Solidarity Economy, Secretariat of Work, Employment and Income from the city of Sao Carlos.
The initiatives of solidary finances have been highlighted in our society because they represent an alternative way of socio-economic organization based on Solidarity Economy principles. They involve initiatives as exchanging clubs, community banks, collective and self-managed enterprises, credit cooperatives that use mainly social currency, complementing Real, which aims at distributing the wealth produced, instead of accumulating it. The aim of this ACIEPE was to offer education to graduate students and actors from outside the academic community about solidarity economy and it seeks to integrate NuMI-EcoSol’s actions with other initiatives and support and fostering entities that are organized in a Solidary Finance and Social Currency Group Work in the city of Sao Carlos.
So far, a second offer of this ACIEPE has not been proposed. For further information, you can access the webpage created to publicize the ACIEPE during the time of its development, as well as the photo album with pictures of meetings, participants and other activities.
